Enhanced Home Banking security
To protect your privacy when using Home Banking, Glendale City Employees FCU's Home Banking uses the most current log in security procedures. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of protection by using an image called Security Key that you select.

1. Why is MFA needed?

To ensure that even if an identity thief steals your personal financial information, he or she won’t be able to use it.

2. What is MFA?
MFA sets up security questions that only you know the answers to. In addition, it displays an image (Security Key) personalized by you.

3. Why do I need this new security system?
Because of the increasing threat of identity theft. If an ID thief steals your personal financial information, they can use it to make purchases and apply for loans pretending to be you. This can ruin your credit record, and straightening it out could take months.

4. How does MFA work?
When you register, you will create an image (Security Key) and set up questions only you know the answers to. Whenever you log in to Home Banking, you’ll see the image you selected so you know the site is legitimate, not an impostor. MFA also registers your computer. When you log in, if it doesn't recognize the computer, it will ask you to answer your security questions to verify your identity.

5. How does MFA make me more secure?
Your user name and password won’t be enough to give an ID thief access to your account. If they attempt to log on from a computer other than the one you registered from, they won’t be able to answer the security question, and the system will deny them access.

6. What keeps somebody from accessing my secret image (Security Key)?
Your secret image and phrase are shown only if you log in from your own computer, or have answered the security questions when logging in from another computer.

7. Why am I being asked a question when I try to log in?
To prevent an identity thief who has your account number and password from logging in from another computer. They can enter the information they have, but when the computer detects that they’re at a different computer than the one you registered, it will ask the security question you provided previously.

You can register other computers as well. For example, if you registered from your home computer, the security question will appear if you attempt to log in from your work computer. Register that computer to avoid future security questions.

8. Can I access my account from several computers?
Yes. There is no limit to how many different computers you can register. Just verify your identity by answering the security questions. For convenience, register any computer you plan to use frequently.

9. I'm not an Internet expert. How easy is it to use MFA?
Very easy. Just verify the image and respond correctly to the security question.

10. Can I change my Security Key?
Yes, at any time. Just be sure you see your current Security Key and phrase to be sure you’re not at a counterfeit site.

11. When will I be asked for more information?
Only when you first register for MFA, and when using a different computer than the one you originally registered from.

12. What do I do if I am locked out from my account?
Call us to have the lockout removed.

13. How do I know if MFA is working?
Once you register, it works automatically, protecting you when you’re online and when you’re not.

14. Is my personal information still safe?
Yes. In fact, it's safer than before because the security system is making sure it's you and not an unauthorized user who is accessing your account.
